PULMONARY DIAGNOSTIC TESTING
Helping You Stay Healthy
Randolph Pulmonary & Sleep Clinic has the only Pulmonologist located in Randolph County, North Carolina.
We are trained to evaluate and treat multiple lung related issues.
PULMONARY DISEASES WE TREAT
At Randolph Pulmonary & Sleep Clinic we treat a wide variety of pulmonary disease. Below is a list of the most common disease we treat.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a chronic inflammatory lung disease that causes obstructed airflow from the lungs.
Asthma is a chronic, or long-term, condition that intermittently inflames and narrows the airways in the lungs.
A type of COPD involving damage to the air sacs (alveoli) in the lungs, so your body does not get the oxygen it needs. May experience chronic cough and trouble breathing during exercise. Commonly caused by smoking.
A type of high blood pressure that affects arteries in the lungs and in the heart.
Inflammatory disease that affects multiple organs in the body, but mostly the lungs and lymph glands.
Infection that inflames air sacs in one or both lungs, which may fill with fluid.
A cancer that begins in the lungs and most often occurs in people who smoke.
A small round or oval-shaped growth in the lung.
A lung disease that occurs when lung tissue becomes damaged and scarred. This thickened, stiff tissue makes it more difficult for your lungs to work properly.
X-RAYS & ULTRASOUNDS
Randolph Pulmonary has their own on-site X-ray and ultrasound machines to make treatment more cost effective for our patients.
6 MINUTE WALK TEST
It is used as a simple measure of aerobic exercise capacity. The results of this test may or may not lead your doctor to do more sophisticated measures of your heart and lung function
Laryngoscopy is a procedure used to look at the larynx (voice box), including the vocal cords, as well as nearby structures like the back of the throat.
This test can be used to look for the causes of symptoms in the throat or voice box (such as trouble swallowing or breathing, voice changes, bad breath, or a cough or throat pain that won’t go away).
Through a holistic approach to medicine, I try viewing each patient as a whole rather than a single symptom to be treated. This is just one of many procedures I perform when coming up with any diagnosis. Your health deserves proper care and attention and I’m able to provide. PULMONARY FUNCTION TESTING
Pulmonary function tests (PFTs) are noninvasive tests that show how well the lungs are working. The tests measure lung volume, capacity, rates of flow, and gas exchange. This information can help your healthcare provider diagnose and decide the treatment of certain lung disorders.
Normal values for PFTs vary from person to person. The amount of air inhaled and exhaled in your test results are compared to the average for someone of the same age, height, sex, and race. Results are also compared to any of your previous test results. If you have abnormal PFT measurements or if your results have changed, you may need other tests.
